Presentation

Welcome to the International Conference on Perovskite Semiconductors: From Fundamental Properties to Devices (PerFunPro), celebrated from 8th to 10th of September 2025 in Konstanz, (Germany).

Perovskite semiconductors have demonstrated excellent properties. Their chemical tuneability and the possibility to process them from solution is remarkable and makes them extremely interesting for devices applications. Current important research directions and open questions in the field of perovskite semiconductors will be addressed in this conference. This includes fundamental research on perovskite semiconductors and their applications as well as the perovskite chemistry and composition, stability and degradation mechanisms and the role of defects and their passivation in the bulk and at interfaces, just to mention some current research topics.

With this PerFunPro conference we want to celebrate the research done within the DFG funded Priority Program SPP2196 and bring together the perovskite community from across the globe to present their newest result, take the opportunity to extend their network and to discuss emerging challenges in this research field.
Topics

The topics for this conference are related to perovskite semiconductors, their characterization, stability and performance. This includes:

  • Precursor chemistry, perovskite crystallization, and film formation mechanisms
  • Role of lead and possible alternatives
  • Degradation mechanisms including compositional and phase stability
  • Nature of defects, defect tolerance, and passivation strategies
  • Fundamental electronic and optical properties (carrier dynamics/transport, charge recombination, role of interfaces, ion migration, etc.)
  • Perovskite devices ((tandem) solar cells, LEDs, detectors, etc.)
  • Emerging properties of perovskite semiconductors
