Online Conference

The Applied Light-Matter Interactions in Perovskite Semiconductors (ALMIPS2021) took place from the 05th to the 07th of October 2021.

Mineral Perovskite (CaTiO3) was firstly discovered in 1839, but it was not until the first half of the 20th century when its crystal structure was described. Since then, a great number of different compositions with the general formula ABX3 have been classified in the Perovskite family of materials. Interestingly, Perovskites have revolutionized the semiconductor materials and devices field after their first application for photovoltaics, roughly a decade ago. The extensive research carried out during the last years and the vast number of possible compositions have led to the discovery of fascinating opto-electronic properties, phenomena and mechanisms, which have enabled the emergence of unprecedented applications and technologies, including photovoltaics, light-emitting devices, lasing, scintillators, among others.

The online symposium ALMI-PS2021 aimed at covering cutting-edge scientific research on the optical and/or electro-optical features of halide perovskites and their derivatives. This conference joined internationally recognized experts in the field, who disclosed the most relevant advances on a wide variety of topics, including fundamental photophysical phenomena, optical modelling of materials and devices towards tailoring and optimization of their performances, as well as the new trends, strategies and future perspectives of Perovskite semiconductors.

Topics
Topics to be covered by the conference:
  • Optical modelling of materials and devices (dielectric constant estimation, photon recycling, multi-junction solar cells, LEDs)
  • Optical nanostructures for halide PS devices (photonic crystals, plasmonics, diffraction gratings, metamaterials)
  • Non-linear optics (2nd harmonic generation, lasing, multiple exciton generation, multiphoton absorption, quantum cutting, photon up/down conversion)
  • New trends in light-material interactions in perovskite materials (strong coupling, chirality and polarized light emission, TADF, enhanced out-of-plane conductivity in 2D-PS, responsive perovskites for adaptative devices)
