We review the current state and future potential of perovskite tandem solar cells discussing monolithic and stacked device architectures, bottom and top absorber types, recombination layers and transparent conductive electrodes. IBM’s solution-processed chalcogenide and monolithic chalcogenide-perovskite solar cells are presented in more detail.
