Until the present moment, efficiency of perovskite solar cells has shown the fastest progress than any other solar technology at any time, with a jump from a promising 9% to a competitive 20% in only threee years. To keep the track, a deep knowledge of the fundamental mechanisms that occur in perovskite solar cell is needed so that the strategies to reach next milestone can be established. In this work we will review present knowledge about physico-chemical properties of the different elements that form the solar cell, how do they affect their electrical properties and which are the limits that we face with present configurations. Several aspects such us the origin of hysteresis in cyclic voltammetries under relatively slow scan rates and the high Voc attained in the cell will be explored from an electrical point of view. Finally the practical effect of these phenomena in real operating cells will be discussed.
