Short - wave infrared (SWIR) detectors, based on lead sulfide (PbS) quantum dots (QDs), have been studied. Commercially available PbS QDs ink with original concentration C = 50 mg / mL and absorption peak at λ = 2200 nm has been used. 4 - pixels substrates (1.4 sm x 1.4 sm) were fabricated from Glass - ITO substrates by photo-lithography method in Technion’s micro-nano fabrication & printing unit (MNF&PU). After cleaning and drying steps, they were coated by ZnO sol - gel layer. The active layer of devices was fabricated from PbS QDs by drop-cast method from original solution and by spin-coating from concentrated one to receive the homogeneous films. The different types of upper electrodes, such as Au, TAPC, as organic electron-blocking layer (EBL), fluorinated fullerene C60F48, as dopant for EBL, have been thermally deposited through a shadow mask on the working PbS QDs layers in PVD -20 (VINCI) evaporating system.
Absorption spectra, dark – light photovoltaic characteristics, external quantum efficiency (EQE) of fabricated devices have been studied in this research. Some of results are presented on the Figure.
