Organic and hybrid thin-film photovoltaics have been trending towards the efficiency and lifetime targets, as well as the improved scale-up potential, necessary to challenge silicon-based photovoltaics.2 With further understanding of the underlying processes, optimising the conditions and improving statistical research output, even greater performance will be achieved in due time. To help facilitate this Ossila Limited has developed a unique and complimentary package of components, equipment and materials for the research community to take the next steps in organic photovoltaic development. From affordable processing equipment to high-quality perovskite precursors and a brand new range of scale-up substrates, our steadily growing catalogue of products was born out of our own requirements in the lab.

One of the major barriers to scale up out of the lab and commercial application of OPVs is the lack of long term and statistical lifetime data in “real-world” conditions. Drawing on collaborative projects such as the Sheffield Solar Farm with our academic links, we have developed systems to enable such data to be collected. Furthermore our new low-cost source-measure unit is now making statistical lifetime measurements a reality without reducing group research output, and reducing the entry barrier to OPV research. With strong links to the academia we have our finger on the pulse, and are adding new products to our ranges every week.

Drawing on extensive academic and industrial experience with OPVs, OLEDs and OFETs, Ossila derives its strength from a dedicated R&D team and impeccable customer service and technical support with a clear market vision. We are currently supplying over 600 institutions in over 50 countries enabling researchers to increase the efficiency of their device fabrication and testing. Ossila also offers custom products and services, detailed online guides as well as in-house training to accelerate the ever growing number of research programmes entering the world of thin film electronics research.
