Perovskite and core/shell perovskite quantum dots offer a combination of optoelectronic properties that make them widely studied for next-generation photovoltaics, light emitting diodes, detectors, and more.[1] The potential combination of low-cost manufacturing and high performance has initiated this interest; however, the poor moisture stability and the low thermodynamic stability of organic-inorganic halide perovskites has spurred the continued investigation of all-inorganic halide perovskites. The switch to core/shell compositions opens up the potential for cubic phase stabilization along with passivation of defects and against water and oxygen. [2] [3] Here, we introduce a streamlined one-pot synthesis method for producing CsPbBr3@SiO2 core–shell nanoparticles. We demonstrate a remarkable stability and exceptional optical properties of the core/shell nanoparticles, in comparison to the bare perovskite. To assess the stability and understand the structural characteristics of these nanoparticles, we conducted a series of comprehensive characterizations, including X-ray diffraction, absorbance, and photoluminescence measurements. These analyses provide valuable insights into the nanoparticles' structural integrity and optical performance, confirming their remarkable stability. This study underscores the potential of core–shell nanoparticles as versatile and stable nanomaterials with promising prospects across various scientific and technological fields. Ongoing work will seek to more fully describe the electrical and optical properties in polar solvents with the goal of improving the perovksite quantum dots stability in apolar and polar media and enabling more robust all-inorganic halide perovskite materials.
