Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have been expected to be one of the next-generation solar cells because of high photoconversion efficiency and low manufacturing cost. Recently, their photoconversion efficiencies became to exceed 20%, and low cost printing processes applicable to their manufacturing preparation tend to accelerate the possibilities of practical use. Despite these circumstances, the reliability assessments based on the international standards for their performance evaluation have not been established, and therefore their commercialization has not been discussed in comparing with the normalized data given by the evaluation organizations in the world.
We have previously studied the evaluation method of dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs) and found that DSCs have nonlinear and slow current response to applied irradiation compared to Si-type photovoltaics. In this paper, we have studied methods of spectral responsivity and I-V characteristics measurements of PSCs. It was found that the spectral responsivity of PSCs did not depend on the chopping frequency of applied monochromatic light irradiation, whereas that of DSCs greatly depended on the chopping frequency, and that current response of PSCs to change in light intensity was faster than that of DSCs.
